I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn. After expressing my interest, there was an initial phone interview, which was extremely easy if you do some research about the company, and I was asked to come in for an in-person interview. I was pretty excited about this company until I read through all of the terrible reviews on glassdoor (note: filter by rating, worst to best). The interview experience was exactly as most described on this website. I was interviewed by one recruiter and two account managers who were all extremely friendly, but you can tell they hire a certain "type." I'm a "sorority girl" myself, so their personalities were not as off-putting as many people described, but it is CLEAR they only hire certain types of people. Note: if you're not somewhat attractive and probably white, don't bother applying. They really need to work on diversifying their company. It was kind of crazy to search the company on LinkedIn and see that 95% of employees were white.
Anyways, the first round was fine because it was essentially a conversation. You are expected to lead the direction of the conversation, so I let the interviewers talk about themselves (which they did, and didn't show any interest in asking me about myself). Overall, not the type of company I was looking to work for, but I figured it was good interview practice.
After a couple of days, the recruiter reached out to me and said I "wasn't a good fit," which I agree with! If you want this job, definitely SELL YOURSELF in the interviewer and don't let the interviewers' own narratives distract you from underscoring your own strengths.
