Brief interview with recruiter followed by multiple rounds of interviews and data challenge to be completed within 24 hours. While interviewing by video chat is a challenge, several of the management level interviewers seemed disinterested or disengaged. When receiving feedback on why I wasn’t offered the position, I could tell feedback was from manager who didn’t listen to my answers and who emailed while I was talking. It’s frustrating to hear you “lack experience” in an area that you absolutely don’t - but because a manager chose to multi-task while interviewing you, you’ve wasted time. The final discourteous gesture came from the Director who refused to be on camera for an hour long interview. If a candidate takes the time to dress nicely, prepare heavily and spend three days interviewing with your company, it would be nice to receive the bare minimum of courtesy.

The interview process started off well and moved quickly, leaving me excited about the role. But after the interviews, communication stopped completely. Despite following up multiple times, I received no response for weeks. I eventually got a generic rejection, which felt like an afterthought. Candidates invest a lot of time and energy preparing for interviews, clear and timely communication should be the minimum. I hope the company improves how it handles candidate experience going forward.
