I am currently pursuing my M.Tech from NIT Jaipur. In our 2nd Semester, Intel came to our college in January for recruiting people for 10-12 Months Internship.
Hiring Workflow :
1. Form Filling : Intel Workday Portal + College Google Form
2. Resume Shortlisting by different team(s)
3. Call(s) for Interview Scheduling
4. Interview
When you upload your resume on the Intel Portal, after a few days, different teams will call you individually to schedule the Interview (if your resume matches the team's expectations). I was lucky enough that my resume got shortlisted by multiple teams of Intel. They personally called me and scheduled the respective Interviews. In my case they called me and scheduled the Interview on the very next day.
Interview Experience :
Interview started with my Introduction. Then they firstly deep dived my Resume Projects, firstly towards my ML Project which was a Regression Model. They told me to describe about this project, which model I have used, how data preprocessing is done, results, from where I collected the dataset etc. questions based on project and what mentioned in my resume. I tried my best to answer every questions asked. They have my resume infront of them. Then they asked about my second project i.e A Full Stack Web Application Project. They asked me questions such as why I used MongoDB as database and why not MySQL etc.
Then they shifted towards the programming language, they told they are looking for C/C++ or Python language candidates. Java is not used in Intel i guess. I told that I am much comfortable in C++ language, so they asked questions related to Pointers, Array with Pointers, how to reverse a string without using any inbuilt function, OOPS concepts such as Polymorphism and its types with code implementation, about virtual functions, race condition etc.
They also asked that when did I completed my mentioned projects i.e the timeline of my resume projects.
The Interview last approx 45 minutes. It concluded with Interviewer asking me questions related to when would I be available to join for Internship and when do our final exams will get over. I answered it whatever I know regarding the exams. After 3-4 days, I got the email from our Placement Cell that I am selected for Internship at Intel.
Key Points to remember :
1. Keep your resume up to date and be thorough with all the things whether small or large mentioned in your resume.
2. Be prepared with your projects as major part of Interview will be related to your Projects.
3. Any prior Internship Experience may or may not be beneficial, depending upon the interviewer.
4. Focus on your communication skills which is very much crucial for every Interview.
This was whole Intel Recruitment Process Experience. Hope it helps you all!
Thank you.
