This was an internal transfer from another group within IT during a reorganization of the group. Did not really interview just moved to new position and trained and used prior experience to do the job and have been doing the this type of work for over 20 years now.

The hiring manager contacted me to set up an interview. Within a few days I was on a conference call with him and his team. He described what the job would entail. They asked basic questions about programming languages, algorithms, data structures and software design. Afterwards, I asked them some questions such as what are their jobs like and what sort of technologies do they work with daily.

There were three rounds namely technical, managerial and an HR round. Technical round mainly consisted of programming and puzzle solving. Managerial round was scenario based. HR was just a formality. A lot of emphasis was given on C programming. Puzzles were not that difficult. Scenario based round was a bit tough I could say.
