Starts with a 50 minutes presentation (to 4 group leaders) of your thesis work. Then a round of technical questions after the talk. Continues with a round of technical questions from a group leader. Then a round of behavioral questions from another group leader. Then lunch with more junior engineers. Then a last round of casual questions from an engineering manager.

The engineering manager called me abruptly one afternoon. The conversation lasted for about 25 mins and mostly focused on the job description and my current research. I was invited to an on-site interview at Intel in Hillsboro. The manager who had given me a call met with me in the lobby and we spoke for a half hour regarding general expectations. I was escorted to a conference room where three other people were waiting for the presentation on my research. This was followed by a few rounds of technical and behavioral questions, with a break for lunch and fab window tour. Most questions were either behavioral or related to my current research. Not one question was related to the skills required for the role.
