      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Intercontinental Exchange (Atlanta, GA) nel mese di gen 2022

      Colloquio

Had a recruiter reach out through Linkedin and interview me. They then passed me off to a team lead developer who asked me a series of questions, mostly about React and some of the nuances of it, such as hooks, lifecycle methods, side effects, and state management. Overall pretty laid back phone interview. I was then reached out to for a coding test. It was in CSS and JS. The CSS test asked to create some elements with specific styles, and to make it change when the width is changed. The instructions weren't very specifc and I made 2 different figures, rather than just creating a single figure that changed as you resized the page. Which would have been super easy to do, but the instructions seemed to be asking for two different solutions. The second example was a javascript one for making a custom logger function. Also not very specific on certain things, like how the user should input the information. I wrote a codepen that I thought did everything they were asking. I submitted my answers within an hour of getting the test, and then got an email within 2 hours after that letting me know that I failed on all accounts. I asked for some clarification, but was just told that I was supposed to only make one figure for the CSS solution, and that my JS solution was just wrong. It would have been nice to have something more personable, or more critical feedback, but they must not really care too much to call or reach out to their applicants.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

The object of this exercise is to write a custom JavaScript logger. The only markup needed will be a div with an ID attribute of “result” - where the logger will append its output. Write an object that has the following characteristics: 1. It should be a function that accepts any log level defined at runtime (e.g. debug, warn, etc.) and a corresponding color to apply to the log message (e.g. gray, orange, red, etc.) as arguments. 2. This function should return a new function that takes a message as its argument and appends it to the resultant DOM element. Use this to create loggers for debug, warn, and info levels. 3. Each appended log message should be prepended by the name of its associated level and displayed in the corresponding color. Note: Do NOT hard code the log levels, colors, or resultant DOM element information in the JavaScript functions. Example Output: [debug] This is my debug message!!!! [error] Whoops we got an error! [myCustomLog] This is my custom output log message.
