I cannot believe how rude these people are. I had a phone interview with someone from HR and two people from product marketing. The position’s description sounded like a match to my experience, so I applied. I was contacted by HR, which is usually an indication that they ALSO believe your experience would be a match. When the phone interview began, one of the women from the product marketing department started virtually berating me about how I wasn’t a fit for the position and was overqualified. Okay? So maybe your HR team should have a better vetting process or you should review resumes before the interview so you don’t waste your precious time or mine. I literally hung the phone up in tears! Obviously this experience doesn’t speak for the whole company but I would run far, far away from the product marketing department.
