I filled out an application and was interviewed on site, and was hired on the spot but wasn't able to accept because I was given a better offer at a different store. The interview in general and the manager was extremely nice, very friendly, and asked me general questions like why I wanted to work there and what I like to do during my free time. Altogether, it probably took no more than 15 minutes.

I applied online, then I called the store and notified them that I had just applied. They pulled my application and sent me an interview with store manager. Interview lasted about 15 minutes, no additional interviews.
At least for the holiday season, they contact you in the fall to begin the interview process. Pretty straightforward questions. I met with 2 of the managers. Company gets back to you within a couple of weeks.

The whole process finished in less than 15 mins. It went very smooth and casual. Ask about my background and any retail experience, why do I want to work at J.crew and these very typical questions. I feel like if you present confident and nicely and chat a little bit helps people make a good impression on.
