Met with the owner and he asked me to do a design project. Showed him the design project at the second interview and did a full presentation in front of him and the head men's designer and he insultingly asked to take a picture of it to compare it to the other projects when clearly they are more interested in free ideas to put into production. This is my warning to all designers looking for a job out there. Pass on this company and run away. They are only looking for free design work and will not pay you for your time or efforts. Also, there is a lack of ethnic diversity at this company and interviewing with the owner was like meeting with someone who is clearly not educated. He was ignorant and disrepectful. You will be treated like a step child working for the women's team because this is primarily a men's wear company. It is a small team with little structure and no chance for upward mobility. Pass on them and find a company where you can bloom and be treated well but not here. It is a waste of time if you are truly talented and have a great background working in the designer or contemporary markets.
