      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso JBK Associates (Trenton, NJ)

      Colloquio

Many months ago interviewed with owner Julie K and VP Kevin M. Having a lot of experience with recruiting in a similar domain + a high billing track record, I was promptly invited to a second round. However this second interview round gave me the strong impression of a dishonest and hidden agenda. While its common to probe for high level questions around how I run my desk, its not appropriate to insistently ask for really specific details (ie. the back office infrastructure, granular marketing and sales process details, names of specific vendors and how it's all organized from a technical standpoint). By the end I had the distinct impression they were not looking to hire but instead just using interviews to gather extremely valuable competitive intelligence for free. I eluded answering in too many inappropriate details but it felt quite an exploitative experience by the end, especially after having spent serious time preparing for these interviews only to suspect this was all a waste of my time. On top of that, I got very little time to ask my own questions as a prospective employee. When I did, and asked what the company's annual revenues are, I was told "being a private company, we don't disclose that" (!) That's a basic metric any high performing recruiting expects so this response was a huge red flag. Cumulatively, I had some serious reservations about this interview process by now. After being invited for a third round I indicated that I would only wish to proceed if the conversation advanced beyond the technical probing and into more meat and potato questions around joining the firm. I guess they realized I was onto their game of using me for free consulting, since they rescinded the invitation and felt it was "not a fit." Agreed!
