      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso JFrog (Tolosa) nel mese di mar 2016

      Colloquio

Currently holding a similar Director's position in London, I didn't intend to leave my current company unless Jfrog confirmed they were the gem I was hoping for. Other important criteria: I am from Toulouse originally and it made the position look even more interesting. I decided to apply online to learn more and check compatibilities. The process was smooth and quick. I got a response for a first interview 2 days after I applied. The first meeting was postponed at short notice to another date one or two days later. I first spoke to the GM EMEA and then with the VP HR the week after. The first interview was extremely average. I was prepared and did my homework. I also arrived late because of a misunderstanding. The interviewer spent most of the time speaking and presented the company quite thoroughly. He then just proceeded to a basic review of my CV and my reasons to apply. In the end, he asked me to tell him how much I thought my market value was before we could proceed to the next stages. My personal feeling is that I didn't really click with this gentleman and I just couldn't feel the Mojo that I was looking for. Having made some thorough research and knowing my current value, I replied the day after (Friday) with a salary range explaining why I went for this number (negotiable €72-75K base + % + package, flat compared to my current package in £). He immediately replied stating that it was ambitious for Toulouse, which didn't make sense to me for a Team management position covering several continents in this industry. It also made me feel that he was already negotiating and kind of bargaining. He concluded writing that we would talk about it later... He then told me than depending on the outcome of the second interview, we'd book a third and last appointment face to face with the VP Sales who was visiting the Toulouse office. Giving me way, he got a second video interview booked with the VP HR in Netanya, Israel which was postponed by two days (from Tuesday to Thursday). In the meantime, the gentleman (GM EMEA) came back to me (on Wednesday) asking if I could make myself available to travel to Toulouse for the next Monday or Tuesday to meet for the 3rd interview with the CEO and the VP Sales. Having business meetings already booked for my current employer in Paris, I replied that I'd do my best but that it was short notice to arrange such a trip. Even though Tuesday was excluded, I checked the flights from London to Toulouse for Monday and Tuesday. I enquired him about the expected meeting times. He then came back saying that it would depend upon the outcome of the second interview the following day (Thursday). The times anyway didn't match very well with the flights. I then replied that I would advise the following day after the 2nd interview. The 2nd interview lasted an hour and this time, I really got to see and hear what I was looking for in this company. The interview was a dual way exchange, with a lot of genuinely interesting questions and a lot of humanity in the conversation. I got to understand who wrote the ad that made me so interested in the company. It was a very natural conversation and there aren't any questions that specifically need to be mentioned. Except for the 4 values from their internal Codex (see Question below). The rest is about experience, motivations, etc. The interview concluded on a very positive note and the lady closed it stating that she did hope that we'd meet soon. I was looking forward to the next stage and waiting a message telling me to try and find the best solution to meet with them on Monday in Toulouse. I sent a Thank you note about 40 minutes later with an additional question and also forwarded the salary requirements that I had already sent to the GM EMEA. Exactly an hour after the end of the 2nd interview, I received a terribly politically correct rejection email from the gentleman I first interviewed with and didn't really get to understand the reason of it. I did not ask for any additional explanation as it was not capital for me to know. It was just not meant to happen. Overall, the process was interesting and positive, but I have felt that the quality of the interviewers was uneven and have the feeling that the decision was based on guts rather than rational elements. The company seems to have a bright future and to be a positive professional environment.
