I applied online. The first contact I got from the company was a text message, which I thought was unusual and oddly intrusive. Normally an HR person or recruiter initiates contact via email. The HR person scheduled an on-site interview for that week as the first interaction. The company requires applicants to fill out old-fashioned paper applications. In any event, the HR person said I would hear back in a few days regarding the next steps. I never heard back from him, and instead every interaction was initiated by me, either by phone or email, each week, for over 8 weeks.
