The application was straightforward enough and I am an excellent candidate, but I received the following correspondence: "In order to optimise time zones and opportunities for connection for this particular role with our Marketing team we are only considering applications from those already located in Northeastern US" Being in the Northeastern US is not mentioned and the role is clearly marked "remote". I am located in Florida (Eastern Time Zone). The only mention of specifics are the following: "Please note: Kasada is an e-verify employer (US based applicants only)" So yeah, I'm not sure what Kasada's recruitment team is going for there. On a personal note, companies that add a blurb encouraging underrepresented groups to apply, should absolutely strive to have stellar clarity and transparency during the interview process to "walk the walk", so to speak. Love the sentiment, the execution for this team could use work. Here is the aforementioned blurb from the job posting: "Research shows that women and other marginalized individuals tend to only apply when they check every box. We’re always keen to broaden our perspective, so if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point above, please still get in touch, we'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great addition to the team!"
