I was scheduled for an interview and was very excited. The day before the interview I received an email informing me I was no longer a candidate for the position for the sole reason that I am not local to the job in Miami. Ironically, I am in the process of relocation to Miami and was not given to the opportunity to speak to my situation, nor did I receive an email or phone call to, in the very least, inquire of my plans or status. If this company values diversity, I would highly recommend including geographic diversity in their strategy. There is value in recruiting talent outside of their local talent pool. Especially for those such as myself, who are in the process of relocating or considering relocating.
