Pretty standard screening with the recruiter, and then the interview with the hiring manager was scheduled for a few days later. The hiring manager interview was an hour, with pretty standard questions (STAR) relating to the role. The issue was that the position was advertised as fully remote...then almost two weeks after the interview, I reached out to the recruiter who said the hiring manager was deciding on the "direction of the role" and would get back to me the following week. So it is now three weeks after my last interview, and the recruiter reaches out to say that they want to move me onto the next stage in the interview process, but the role is now 100% in-office! What is that?! I responded with a very professional email, saying I would consider hybrid, but I have worked successfully for over 5 years in a remote work setting. I never got a response to that. Nothing. Very unprofessional.
