      Colloquio

The interview process was long. That wasn't the problem. The problem was the fact that the HR person calls on a Sunday evening to inform you when you have an interview and then only ever calls on a Sunday evening. Very disrespectful and telling of this company. I went through the entire process all the way to getting an offer. I refused based on the following: 1. Calls on a Sunday - this is just a no for me. It represents a disrespect of my personal time. 2. During the interview they focused on "work ethic" and very clearly made it sound like they can and will work you to the bone. No real work/life balance. I'm all for pulling a 50-60 hour work week but this seems to be the norm here. 3. When asked if reviews of the CEO yelling at employees were true the answer was "Yes, but the person really kind of deserved it". I'm sorry but no one deserves to be screamed at (which was what he implied happened). I understand getting professional feedback if something is done that was not expected or veered away from a project deadline. No one deserves to be militarily brought down in a work place. 4. I was very open about my current salary at my current position that goes along with my work experience. I was given an offer that was $15k below that. They did post the range and I was asking for the top range from the start. The fact that they completely disregarded that and decided to wait until the end to let me know they would not bring me in at the level in which I was at at my current company was not acceptable. Then when I refused the offer they came back with "we're on a hiring freeze". This I know was a lie because more jobs were posted on their website the next day. Overall, I do not trust this company. They will not answer direct questions about how they feel the company will be doing in 5 years. From what I see as an outsider, they are readying to sell. During the interview process they also seemed focused on the job perks rather than what I would be doing as a worker. It was almost as if I were being bribed to join them with rose colored glasses. I'd rather not work for a company that isn't fully transparent on pay up front and implies all employees require a work ethic that entails sacrificing your mental health for the good of the company.
