I applied the Lawrence Scholar fellowship. I submitted my research proposal, my CV and three recommendation letters. Two letters from professors in my home university, and one from my current supervisor at LLNL. The entire screening process took about six month. Because we have very close collaboration with LLNL, I was then selected as one of the awardees.
