      Colloquio

      I submitted an application via Indeed and submitted the required survey questions, which lead to doing a "1 Way Interview" (recording yourself answering questions that appear on a Sparkhire screen). After almost 2 weeks, I received an email from an HR Rep stating the hiring team wanted to move ahead and including a Calendly link to schedule a technical interview. There were 3 times available the following day on the interviewer's schedule. I selected one and was prepping for the call scheduled for less than 30 minutes away when I received a cancellation email from the interviewer with no explanation or instructions (there were Calendly links to Cancel or Reschedule). I emailed the interviewer back and copied to HR Rep asking if I should reschedule the call. A scant 8 minutes before my scheduled interview, the HR Rep replied to my message and informed me that the position had been filled. I have been a hiring manager, and I would suggest from my personal experience that even if you have the ideal candidate that suddenly appeared, you always hedge your bets and complete the interviews you have already scheduled to at least have a fall-back option if things don't work out. Highly unprofessional, and somewhat foolish. Based on what I've read about the company here on Glass Door, I guess I should not be surprised at all.

      That's the issue - they didn't. They strung me along through the lengthy and cumbersome process then just bagged without explanation at the last minute. I can take rejection or being beat out by a better candidate, but the timing here was ridiculous.

      We appreciate that you took the time to go through our interview process. We recently switched to video interviewing instead of a phone screen as it seemed to help streamline things. We are always striving to make things more efficient and it looks like we lost the personal touch in the process. We are updating our process to have better communication through out. In this instance our ideal candidate accepted our offer the same day your interview was. We wish you the best of luck!
