Had an initial online chat, followed by another with the team’s engineer. Then, I was given an interview task using a tech stack I had zero experience with. I asked if I could use a different stack—denied.
So, in a week, I learned an entirely new stack, built a full-stack application, and submitted it.
The morning of the interview, I got a call saying they weren’t moving forward because they received "better submissions." Fair enough—but after all that time and effort, the least they could do was provide proper feedback out of courtesy.
It’s disappointing how some companies treat candidates. In hindsight, I’m glad I won’t be working there—seems like culture and respect are not their strengths.
That said, shoutout to the recruiter (her name starts with K)—she was professional and respectful. Probably the best employee they have!
