Applied for C# position but got asked to work with C++ even though I have zero experience with C++. Though as a general rule I don't have anything against new technologies, I would not want to accept something I'm not comfortable with just at the beginning of a new job. It drives down my salary (since I don't have any experience with it) and unnecessarily raises my discomfort level. I am of course someone with a bit of experience and can choose from other options. I guess it's a good way for a company to slash the costs by getting someone unfit for the job but it's certainly not a good option for me. So beware, if you apply for a job A, chances are you'll get interviewed for a job B.
