Applied for a special education teacher position. Questions were general, and not directly related to the position. It was clear that they were considering me for other positions. Offered a long-term sub position (in gen ed) with the claim that I would make more money since it was only four months remaining in the school year. I accepted and completed the drug test. However, the requested comparison of the compensation didn't support the principal's claim. Given my experience and education, the expectation of doing certified teacher work for $135 to $145 a day with no benefits was insane. If there were reservations, don't extend any offer.
