Contacted by recruiter, set up a face to face roughly 2 weeks later. Provided information of the two people I'd meet with.
First thing I noticed, they sure like their titles as one person had 4 plus titles and the other person, two titles. I met with the person with two titles.
Never went over my resume, technologies I've worked with, none of that and dove right into technical questions.
Hypothetical, technical questions which would happen in their environment. No scenario set ups, policies of how their environment is, ridiculously opened ended questions that could potentially have many different answers.
"A user can't get onto CNN but can get to any other web page." So, are we talking a remote user using VPN, VDI, Internet Explorer only or is this happening on the corporate LAN?
"A user cannot access emails on his cell phone in Aruba." Are your users given international plans? Are we talking while on cellular or WiFi? What MDM platform is used? Then says, "let's say it's the users personal gmail account and we don't use MDM."
"CRM is down and one person has a mouse that isn't working, how would you handle this?"
"If your life could be a book, what would the title be?"
These questions required asking more questions than provided answers and were very poorly articulated.
I emailed the recruiter when I left the Lenox Advisors office advising she wouldn't receive a favorable response for my candidacy and wished her good luck filling the role.
