I went through multiple rounds of interviews for this role. After applying via LinkedIn and the company's website, I was contacted by HR from an outsourced firm for an initial screening based on the job requirements. A few days later, I received a call informing me that the hiring manager wanted to meet. This was positioned as an informal meeting to help me better understand the role and the company.
The hiring manager was excellent, and we had a productive conversation about how my skills aligned with the position. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions, which I appreciated. I focused on learning more about the company culture, the technology stack, and the team dynamics.
The conversation ended with the hiring manager outlining the next steps and mentioning that HR would reach out to schedule further rounds. Unfortunately, after this, things went downhill. I never received any follow-up from HR. I sent emails but received no response. Even after reaching out to the hiring manager, I didn’t get a reply. It would have been courteous to communicate the outcome, regardless of the decision. Ghosting candidates feels unprofessional and disappointing, especially from a company that initially seemed promising.
