      I applied for the Facility Operations Manager position on January 12, 2026. Approximately one week later, my application status changed to “In Consideration.” After that update, there was no further communication for several weeks. To gain clarity, I reached out to a recruiter via LinkedIn on January 28, 2026, as Life Time does not provide a direct method for candidates to request application updates. She indicated that she would contact the hiring manager and that someone would follow up with me. After a full week passed with no communication, I followed up again and was informed that the hiring manager had closed the requisition and was not actively recruiting for the role. I was also told that if the position were to be reopened, the hiring manager would reach out to me directly. Despite being told that the requisition was closed, my candidate homepage continues to list my application as “In Consideration.” I received no phone call, email, or direct communication from the hiring manager to confirm this status or to formally close the loop on my candidacy. This discrepancy between what was communicated and what is reflected in the candidate system has been confusing and unnecessary. If a role is no longer active or a candidate is no longer under consideration, the application status should be updated accordingly and communicated clearly. While I understand that hiring priorities can change, transparency and closure are fundamental to a professional hiring process. At minimum, a clear update or accurate status change would have helped manage expectations and avoid unnecessary uncertainty.
