      Colloquio

One of the Worst interviews I have ever been through. I should have listened to the other comments from former interviewees, they warned me and they were spot on. Even the person coming out of the office (who appeared to have just been through an interview) did not seem happy. The lady I spoke with in the office was sweet and pleasant, but she also seemed nervous and timid the whole time, like she seemed scared of the boss, which is never a good sign. They have you fill out a form with a bunch of questions when you first come in. They ask what salary are you currently making (which is against CA state law), and say that you Must provide proof, like pay stubs (which is also against CA state law). They also ask if you vote, which is none of their business. I think they just want to know if you will take time off to vote, and I am guessing they might disqualify you on that basis. I think they also ask if you are pregnant or are thinking of starting a family, but I am not sure. When the assistant asked me to fill out the blank areas (like current salary), I said it was against the law, and I felt that my answer made her uneasy, maybe because the boss would get mad. I took a typing test, and then a CAD test. The lady administering the CAD test did not provide clear instructions (like how much time I had or what qualities they were looking for such as quantity or quality), could not answer my questions, and gave me misleading information. I was told to reference one sheet Or the other, which I took to mean they were different samples/drawings, when in fact I should have been told to reference both - one sheet for some information, and the other sheet for more information. The cad sheet was not set up on the computer, so I wasted time setting up the scale and the units and other basic settings. The owner came in after a while and treated me like a child and asked me where I went to school, even though I have over 15 years experience in CAD and architecture. He apparently wanted me to add in "grid" (column?) lines, even though I was told to only recreate several rooms in the center of the building, which had absolutely nothing to do with that. He also said I was supposed to "start with outer (core) walls first, then work my way to the inner walls". This made absolutely no sense, as I was not instructed to draw the whole building, and that would have been too large of a scope for a job test. There was a curved wall that inextricably varied in thickness, and the thickness of walls, layers, lineweights, hatch, etc. were not referenced on either sheet, though he claimed he had provided all the information I needed. There was no architectural scale provided either, which would have saved a lot of time. Had the body of the plan already been on the sheet, with just the area in question removed, I would have been able to ascertain the information that I needed and draw up the plan quickly and easily, but no. The man stopped me, walked out of the room without a word and spoke briefly with the lady, and I overheard him saying he was going to lunch. The lady came up to me and said something like they would consider me and might get back to me. Since the man was so rude and dismissive, I was upset and I told the lady there not to bother, I was not interested because of the way I had been treated. I feel very sorry for her, everyone else that works for or with him, and all the people that had to suffer through an interview with him. Do not apply there unless you are a masochist.

      Domanda 1

What is your current salary? (and that I must provide pay stubs to prove it).
