Easy, I came in for a sit-down interview that lasted 20 minutes, did my background check same day during the interview. There were a few questions about my interests, my coursework, why I wanted the job, and how I would handle a certain situation with the children. The mood was not intense and was actually very comfortable.

they had me fill out a paper application and then asked a few questions. The whole interview took less than 20 minutes if you don't count the 20 minutes I had to wait for the director to show up

Really simple if you're good with kids. Just go into the boss's office and talked about why you wanted to work there and why you would be a good fit. She asks if you have any of the certifications required, if not they will provide training for you.
