After multiple rounds of code challenges and a final 4-hour interview with multiple people from the company, I received a rather vague email that stated the company had decided not to hire externally at all and, instead, to promote from within. This was an 11th hour change and, despite the interview going very well, both from a technical and culture fit standpoint, I was simply told via a short email that they were not going to be hiring externally at all. The company exhibited a complete lack of respect for me or my time. This is not a company I'd ever be interested in working for if their poor communication and lack of respect is any indication of how they treat their employees.
