      Colloquio per Outside Sales Associate

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso LivingSocial (Miami, FL) nel mese di ago 2012

      Colloquio

Applied by submitting resume online. I received an email thanking me for applying but that they did not think there was a match. I replied and asked them to reconsider. I have 7+ years in sales, the last 3 of which have been with an internet based hospitality-minded company. I received a reply indicating that my resume would be passed on to the area recruiter and if "she too" believed there was a match, I would be contacted. Several days later, I received an email from her and we set up the first of 2 phone interviews. The first was pretty standard, "tell me about your background..." She asked me to set up a second interview which would be a mock sales pitch. Several days later, we had the sales pitch call. It went smoothly. I've been doing this type of thing for years. I was able to overcome her objections, etc and we set a (mock) appointment (in other words, I closed the call). She gave me her feedback, which was positive and told me that they would be in touch by Monday (this was a Friday) with next steps. Nothing Monday or the rest of the week. More than a week later, I received a form letter saying they didn't feel there was a match. Not sure I can think of any reason other than age... I'm 42. From what I've read here that seems to be a deal breaker. As I've read the reviews, I can see some that who received offers in sales positions comment that "they don't care if you have sales experience" they just want to see how you react. Current employees comment that it's a pressure cooker vibe with unreasonable sales quotas. Someone at LS should re-evaluate either who they are hiring or what the training process is. Unrealistic high quotas for inexperienced sales people is a recipe for low morale and high turnover.
