      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Lowe's Home Improvement

      Colloquio

I applied for the Seasonal Day Shift position. I wasn't contacted by the company until one month later. By that time, I had assumed Lowe's wasn't interested in my application, so I was a bit surprised when they finally contacted me. They asked me if I was still interested in the position I had applied for, which I said yes, and then they proceeded to schedule me for an interview on the following day. The interview was over the phone, which I've never done before, so I was a bit nervous. But if you go into the interview prepared, and ready to discuss your previous work experience, there's no reason to be nervous. When the time came for my interview, I received the call from the HR manager right on schedule. The manager introduced herself, gave me a rundown of the company and the position I had applied for, and proceeded to fill me in on the interviewing process, which would include a second interview with the store manager. After the briefing, she jumped right into questioning. She asked me the same exact questions that were on the application I had completed for Lowe's. So keep those questions in mind when heading into the interview. It's all standard retail questions: describe the best customer experience you ever gave, discuss a time you had to take on a challenging role, and how did you overcome the challenge, etc. I was asked about five questions in all, and the entire interview ran approximately 15 minutes. After the interview was over, the manager informed me that she would review my responses and I may be contacted for a possible second interview. Two days later, I was contacted by Lowe's and scheduled for a second interview the very next day. The second interview was in-person with the store manager. The store manager was very nice, he cracked a few jokes to help ease my nerves before he started the interview. Once again, I was asked standard retail questions: how would you contact a customer you saw in your department, how would you handle a difficult customer, describe a time you didn't see eye-to-eye with a manager or supervisor, and how did you resolve the situation, etc. I was asked about eight questions, and the entire interview felt like it was ten minutes long. After the questioning was over, the manager excused himself from the room, and came back with a job offer. After accepting the offer, I filled out all the necessary paperwork, completed a drug test on location (cotton swab only, no peeing in a cup!), and I was scheduled for orientation.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Every question I was asked during the entire interviewing process involved discussing my previous work experience (If this is the first job you're applying to, you can discuss previous school or volunteer experience instead). Nothing difficult. I was asked all standard retail questions, many of which came directly from the application I completed for Lowe's. However the question that took me the longest to respond to was: Describe a time you made a mistake at work. What mistake did you make, and how did you resolve it?
