Was contacted by recruiter for two positions. Recruiter didn't follow up in a timely manner and was not very communicative. Didn't respond to phone calls, emails, or LinkedIn messages. Finally got a call for first position, was told they were looking for an external hire. They ended up hiring an internal that had worked for them before. There was never a chance I would be hired. Got a call for the other position, interviewed with SM. Was told that I was spoke highly of by SM that didn't hire me. Wasn't hired by second SM either and never found out why I wasn't hired. Just an auto email rejection. Don't apply with this company if you don't have home improvement experience. The management is not well rounded enough to see what people from other retail backgrounds can offer their company. I asked the second manager what he liked about working at Lowe's and he told me that he likes to do home projects and this company fits him. I asked what he liked least and he said that his pet peeve is managers that aren't engaged. Those are answers an entry level manager says, not a store manager. I could share more, but anything else won't surprise anyone either. All in all, very disappointing. I thought this company had more to it than other retailers.

Interview was conversational to get to know you and the job followed by 3 structured interview questions. Overall very casual style interview. Really got to know about the business and how the store operates.
