      Colloquio

      I had an initial call with their recruiter that led to a single video interview with two of the creative team managers. Right off the bat you could tell they were drowning in work and they expressed in many different ways that they needed help. They needed a lot more than what was portrayed on the initial job description and it sounded like working more than 40hrs a week was the norm for them. They also seemed very disorganized (likely due to their own workload). Their pay was absolutely not in line with the national market range for senior designers as well as everything they were wanting and needing. I felt insulted they actually offered me lower than their max range (being as it was so low already) and as I was bringing in 12 years of experience in senior and management roles directly in social media and I was already willing to take a huge pay cut. I tried to work with them and give them a game plan but their responses were shocking and seemed like they were getting annoyed with my questions. There were so many red flags and if I'm having that hard of a time trying to ask for a slight increase working within a budget then I knew I would have a hard time asking them for anything (equipment, reimbursement, raise appraisal, etc.) in the future. It's surprising because they boast on their site that they are "highly competitive" in pay....that's definitely a lie. They were not willing to budge or consider a pay increase after 3 months, it was also clear their needs and workload were a mess and far exceeded what they advertised so I declined the offer. Disappointed because there is a lot of potential to make things smoother and more efficient but they need to take care of their people better.
