Horrible. I sent in my resume for this basic very beginner bookkeeping position.
I receive an e-mail from the interviewer to fill out a job application. Then twenty minutes later, the interviewer backtracks and says that I don't fit the bill because I've never worked at an insurance company handling bookkeeping.
I'm stunned because no where in the job ad did it state that you need bookkeeping insurance experience. I then told the interviewer to update the ad because the people browsing job boards aren't mind readers. I then got a snippy e-mail from the interviewer that I should read between the lines of what this small town insurance company wants.
Needless to say, they hired someone who has no bookkeeping insurance experience but is and finished a bachelors accounting degree.
As of now, this same company is looking for the same position and still lists very minimum requirements. *Face palm*
I guess the interviewer just wanted to make a very vailed excuse not to interview me for a stupid reason considering the job ad hasn't been updated and they hired someone with a bachelors degree in accounting.
By the way, I'm nearly finished obtaining my associates in accounting next year, planning to pursue my bachelors, planning to purse my CPA with 150 credit hours, and planning to work in public accounting.
Do not apply here for a job because the interviewer who has worked at this insurance company for over 40 years has no communication skills whatsoever and waste's everyone's time.
