Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Lush (Glasgow, Scozia) nel mese di lug 2015
Colloquio
I saw the ad on facebook and applied via sending an e-mail with my CV and cover letter. I got an answer 1 week before the group interview. I was told to wear casual clothing and to expect the interview to be about 1.5 hours. I was also requested to bring proof of right to work in the UK and my availability.
The interview was held during open hours so there were costumers on the shop floor but we went upstairs. There 4 interviewers and more than 20 applicants so after a quick briefing about the company we were sorted into 3 groups. There were 6 other people in my group. The whole interview was quite relaxed and positive but our group started at the questions stage so that was a bit stressed. The interviewer asked a question and each of us answered. Sometimes I couldn't hear my fellow candidates' answers because the two other groups were quite loud. The questions included "Why do you want to work at Lush?" "Tell me a situation when you had to work in a team." "Tell me a situation where you had to adapt." "Tell me a situation where you were given constructive criticism and how you handled it."
In second stage the interviewer demod a bubble bar and asked us why we think demoing is important. The answers were to show the costumers how to use a product properly because they are unconventional and to make sure the costumer will be happy with the product (won't have an allergic reaction or something). Then we had to choose 2 products and demo them on each other in pairs and also telling the ingredients and benefits. There was one table with a lof of products and their description (so you don't have to know everything by heart) and we had to do the demo at the other table.
The third stage was a similar exercise but we had to pretend that one of us was the costumer walking in the store asking for something and the other was the sales assistant.
In m opinion, it was hard to decide who did better or worse because everyone's performance seemed very similar to me. The interviewers were constantly making notes so it might depend on little things.
After all the groups finished with all the stages the interviewers told us not to be let down if we don't get the job because we can apply anytime again. Also, successful applicants will be asked to go on a trial shift.
I wasn't called back for the trial shift and 1 week later got an e-mail that I was unsuccessful. I knew someone who also got a group interview on the same day but it was after ours so I guess there were more than 40 applicants overall.

Why do you want to work at Lush?
Tell me a situation when you had to work in a team.
Tell me a situation where you had to adapt.
Tell me a situation where you were given constructive criticism and how you handled it.
Why is demoing a product important?
Demo 2 products.
Pretend you're the costumer/sales assistant.
It was a group interview, very unconventional, hands-on, and activity-based, teamwork. They expect you to know their company values and ethics, which will carry over to your role. It was very relaxed and they made me feel very comfortable and heard.

Was offered an interview and it was fairly casual - in the cafe, and it only lasted around 45 minutes. Pretty much immediately after I was offered a trial shift, and I went and it was kind of horrible because we didn’t know anything about the products, and it also wasn’t very busy so it felt like we were competing with each other to get a customer’s attention, only to not even be able to give them proper information and just have to guess. It was a bit embarrassing and we didn’t get paid either, but we got a free shower gel. I found out I got the job on the way home from the trial shift.

Onboarding session and then a practice shift which involved you sitting customers down and demonstrating products on them. Lasts around an hour, and it’s done in groups of trial shifts.
