I met the company at career fair and they told me to apply online and soon I was contacted for a phone interview. After the phone interview I had to take a test. I was then contacted to fly to their corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania for the second round interview. They had a car service pick me up from the airport in a fancy luxury car with a driver. Every time you are transported by them, they have a luxury car service pick you up. They give you a tour of the "experience center" to see all of their products in a home setting. After that, I gave a sales presentation over one of their automated shade products. Next, they did an interview/role play to test your problem solving skills by giving you a scenario and seeing how you work through it. Then you do another role play interview and then they have someone show your blueprints and they ask you what you think the symbols mean. After lunch you will be interviewed by three different VP's of the company. Some are nice and some are not so nice. For one of my VP interviews, the person coordinating the day told me "how well your interview goes will depend on what kind of mood he is in today." The day is very long and very exhausting. At the end of the week after all of the interviews, they put all candidate's pictures up on the projector in their conference room and review each candidate. I talked to someone else who interviewed for an engineering position and Lutron explained to him the significance of the color blue for 15 minutes, did not allow him to eat lunch, and made him miss his flight. He said his Lutron interview experience was the worst day of his life.

Not a lot of questions but more of a role play experience all day. The questions they did ask were behavioral for the most part. They also ask why you want to work for Lutron and why you want to do sales.

First interview went great. Second lady called me and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Didn't even ask me questions about myself or my experience. Wrote me off immediately, despite having raving reviews from the first interview.

Do not even waste your time with Lutron. I had a 4 hour interview, and I had to reach out for them to tell me no in an automated response. I asked for feedback and they sent me a link from indeed "10 interviewing tips". After meeting with 8 people you would think they would have notes to share. This is crummy business practice and the company was disrespectful after I put in a few hours preparing.

Why should my daughter go to the university you currently attend?

My experience visiting the company was amazing! I had already interviewed for the SLDP role virtually and received an offer. As a courtesy, the company flew me out to give me a tour of the sales team and the engineering testing lab. Everybody was extremely nice and I got to learn the ins and outs of most of the products. They were able to answer everything from intricate engineering design questions to what the sales engineer role entails and the type of customers they support.
I left feeling very positive about this company.

The company simulates a scenario where you are expected to think on your feet.
