      Colloquio

Claiming my resume was not the norm is an understatement. But the folks at Lytx we’re not discouraged. After a few phone interviews with some amazing discussions we eventually moved to the job offer stage. lytx did not disappoint. I knew from our conversations we were a perfect fit. I could have finished some of my interviewers statements before he finished them because we were really on the same page..

      Colloquio

I found the Master Installer position online and sent in my resume and within a couple days I was contacted to set up a phone screen. I spoke with the recruiter LEE who then set up an over the phone interview with the installation manager Jose. LEE then reached out and offered a plane ticket to come tour the office and meet the whole team. This was a great opportunity and an incredible experience!

      Colloquio

In mid March 201, I responded to a posting found on a internet job board. Within a few hours I received an email from a recruiter explaining their interest and he requested that I respond with dates and times I was available to have a quick phone call. After I replied I received a call from the same recruiter and we spoke for about 30 minutes. During that call he explained among other things that the company was building a "new team", one that was never part of their organization before, and this position would be part of the "new team". At the conclusion of that call the recruiter decided a second call would be scheduled with the manager the candidate would roll up to. That call took place within a few days. During the call, again much was made of the "new team" aspect and at the conclusion of that call the manager informed me the recruiter would be in touch to discuss next steps. I'll add that all the "new team" comments made me wonder, at the time, if there was "committed buy in" from higher ups in their organization. I silently wondered if this "new team" was truly budgeted or not. Within a few days the recruiter was communicating that a third call was to be scheduled with multiple members of their field service team. This did not happen, instead I was told the call was going to be with a single field engineer. He also had laid out that there would be an upcoming video interview that would potentially take place after this next call. That call took place but it was kind of strange. The engineer wasn't what I would call an experienced interviewer. He didn't seem to be prepared and it seemed like he didn't know why he was involved in the process. I guess it went ok though because within a few days the video interview was scheduled. This is now getting three plus weeks into the process. The video interview happens. It was multiple panels that included folks from other groups the potential employee would interact with. It was also supposed to include someone from HR but that person wound up not available. At the conclusion of the video interview I got positive feedback from the recruiter and he explained the process couldn't move froward (to an offer?) without my speaking with HR. That evening he scheduled the call, which was now the fifth "interview style" interaction for the following day. That happened on time and without a hitch with the HR rep explaining that she and the entire interview panel from the prior day would be speaking with the manager by the middle of the following week and they would hopefully make a decision then. Naturally, all of my interactions were followed up by emails to the participants, often receiving responses that seemed positive I would move to another step. I followed up with the recruiter later in the following week and I was told he had heard nothing from the manager about their direction. It was not clear if they had even discussed this as a group but I was told maybe next week. Things were no longer moving along like earlier in the process and the communication from the recruiter turned from active to reactive. At this point it seemed like the process had stalled. This is now the fifth week. Again, I followed up the following week with the recruiter and was told the same thing; there still had been no communication about a decision. One day before the seventh week started I was finally sent a typical rejection form letter. Of course I followed up trying to get some indication of what occurred here, but neither the recruiter, HR rep or the manager bothered to reply. It's no surprise though, that almost never happens anyway. However, in this case, after getting more than the usual amount of positive feedback during the process, this exact lack of action is why I rate this a negative interview experience. So, I realize that nobody is everybody's cup of tea and that everything is subject to change, but I can't help but wonder if the "new team" idea ever had total buy in and commitment from the beginning. If it didn't, then they wasted A LOT my time.

Thank you for your interest in Lytx. We definitely value your time and you sharing your interview experience with us. As you mentioned, this is a new team to our organization and the first round of candidates we have interviewed for this team. While the process was lengthy, we have learned a lot and are aiming for a much smoother and faster process as we finish hiring in the remaining geographies across the country.
