I first spoke with the recruiter, and honestly this was the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. The recruiter showed zero respect. I mispronounced the company name because I didn’t know “MA” was supposed to be read in Chinese, and she immediately mocked me and questioned whether I had done any research. Honestly, when I apply to each company, it’s impossible for me to thoroughly understand all of their business, only a general idea. I applied for an Assistant Product Manager role, but when I explained my PM background, she said, “This isn’t a PM position. I don’t know why you even applied.” If it’s not a PM role, then why post a misleading job description and waste everyone’s time? She was impatient, unprofessional, and couldn’t even understand a basic question about team structure. Honestly, if this is the kind of recruiter they hire, it already tells you everything about the company.
