0/5 would not recommend. I applied for a Developer Relations role and submitted my resume. The job spec mentioned technical experience and public speaking skills were required. The recruiter invited me to a phone screen via Microsoft Teams the next day. I dialled into the call and the Maersk recruiter was very unfriendly. He was very disengaged and uninterested. He grilled me for 10 minutes whether I had Sales experience. I answered that I did not and that this was not at all mentioned on the job spec. In fact, the words "sales" or "commercial" do not appear on the spec at all. Then, he said to me that "the job spec is one thing", but they are looking for someone with Sales experience. What does that even mean? Are Maersk making up requirements on a whim at phone screen stage? Absolute shambles and false advertising. Developer relations professionals are not Sales reps. Stay away if you have any actual interest in DevRel.
