I saw that Macy's were hiring for the fall/winter season, so I applied online around 9:00pm. After the online application process, they send you a confirmation email that tells you they will review the application and contact you (via email) if your qualifications are suitable for the position. They prefer someone with open availability, so try to have an open schedule. I checked my email the very next morning and saw that they had invited me to an interview the following day. They give you a link to the site where you schedule your interview and give you specific directions to the appointment. I arrived about 15 minutes early.They weren't ready for me at the exact time, but I was patient. It helped that they at least acknowledged my presence and asked (quite a few times) if I had been spoken to, which I had. Everyone seemed friendly enough. My interviewer arrived about 10 minutes after my appointed time, and he took me to one of the rooms and got right down to it. They didn't ask too many questions, and it was a fairly short interview (15 minutes). He was very laid back and friendly so I felt at ease. Afterwards, he let me know that I got the job and which department I would be working for.
