Filled out online application and sent in Resume. Was contacted within 24 hours by email to set up an interview. I went in for scheduled interview (5 minutes early) and was interviewed by 2 young ladies. I was dressed up and looked professional, however, the 2 young women interviewing me were dressed in jeans and polo style shirts. One lady had her name tag on upside down. I sat down and was told "this is the interview for the temporary holiday help, right?" I said no, I had applied for the permanent full time position. I was told "Well, that position was filled last week". I was very disappointed that I had wasted my time for a position that was not even available. The young interviewers seemed to not even know what job I was there for, and looked at each other and smirked. It was a little insulting. I came to the interview well groomed and well prepared with copies of my resume, my portfolio and a positive and friendly attitude. I was not even given an opportunity to interview. The young women were not prepared or professional. They just sat there looking at me like they didn't know what to say to me. I thanked them for their time and left. When I left the interview I was angry that they had just wasted my time. It seemed like a joke to these girls and I will never think of Macy"s the same way again. Not a good situation.
