I initially interviewed for a sales associate position. After the interview, I asked the hiring manager what department I would be working in. After waiting 10 minutes, the hiring manager decided that I wouldn’t be a good fit for the departments that had open positions, but rather sales position in jewelry. Both interviews went well and I eventually wound up interviewing 3 times that day. What transpired afterwards is what made the process a negative experience. They didn’t call me for 3 days and I received one email from Macy’s HR saying that I had received a conditional offer. The next day I received a call from a hiring manager and I was unable to call her back within business hours. So they gave the position away. She offered to discuss another opening they were going to have come up but I didn’t bother. If this process is any indication of how Macy’s works, I’m surprised they haven’t gone completely broke.

Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.
