Totally lame. They'll ask you questions and even if they get great answers, they'll fail you out. They don't know what they're looking for. Designer or coder? They don't know and don't tell.

Build us a single page webapp using whatever tools, frameworks, libs you want. Take it home for a week, make clean and beautiful code. It's explained as a code test and the wire frames are super basic, so design isn't the highest priority. Job is described as a dev job, NOT a design job, so don't worry about the design of things too much, OR SHOULD YOU?
