I recently completed the full interview process with MarineMax, which was both detailed and time-intensive. After my initial interview, I was advanced to the next stage where I was asked to complete the Caliper assessment and re-submit an extended application. Together, these steps required approximately six hours of additional work.
The entire process spanned close to two months and was facilitated with the support of a recruiter. I ultimately advanced to the final interview, which included a follow-up conversation with my original interviewer as well as an additional team member. The discussions were positive, professional, and constructive.
However, after another week of waiting, I was informed that I would not be moving forward, with the feedback being that I “might not be a fit for the executive team”—despite not having had the opportunity to meet with them directly.
Overall, I found the hiring process to be highly demanding and lengthy, especially given the outcome. While the team was professional throughout, the experience highlighted the importance of alignment and efficiency in the candidate journey.
