I was contacted by a recruiter through email, and then was scheduled for a phone screen with Manager on the team. I was given details about the project and some java questions were asked like inheritance, multiple inheritance in java, interfaces, what is the response code for server side errors in web services and best testing methods

The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and scheduled an initial phone interview with the HR. After the phone interview, she said she would move me to the HackerRank challenge and phone interview with the hiring manager. The HackerRank assignment is very normal, but I didn't manage the time very well. I sent the HR message, hoping to have a second chance to take the challenge on Sunday night. Then she just sent me back a very "normal" reject letter on Monday saying they don't think I would be a good match. No hiring manger interview, no more explanation for my request.
