I had an employee referral for a job interview. Position seemed very interesting and requirements matched my qualifications. The focus on the interview was why I wanted to change and the fact that I did not have any hospitality industry experience. I mentioned a lot about transferable skills, however it did not matter much as the hiring manager kept on mentioning about the importance of industry experience and how hard it would be for an outsider to learn the ropes.
