I was contacted and interviewed by a recruitment agency first. Few weeks later, I had a phone interview with the line manager, then face to face with HR director. A month later, I was invited for a panel interview and assessment in their offices (case study format: 40 min prep + 15min presentation in front of 5 people). The whole process felt very much like an exam i.e. closed questions expecting short, straight to the point ("correct") answers. Not a discussion type interview. For me, the fit with people and what I saw of the corporate culture didn't incite to join and was very destabilising.
