This process was for a very senior regional role which ended up being a complete disappointment, not because of the outcome but due to the way it was managed.
I had not one, not two, not three… but a total of 11 interviews! Many of them at crazy hours due to the difference in time zones.
I interviewed with everyone you can think of. Pretty much every single stakeholder. The person that would be my direct boss and HR were very involved along the way until at some point nothing. Radio silence. They completely ghosted me.
At this point I knew I was one of the final 2 candidates. But couldn’t get hold of HR or the “boss” to confirm that, obviously, I didn’t get the job. After many messages I was finally told that they decided to give the job to someone internally.
I’m all for promoting internally, but I cannot understand how a large corporation thinks it’s ok to waste someone’s time to go through a ridiculous number of interviews and never go back to him. It’s about being decent and coherent with their values - which they are NOT.

Too many rounds over too long a time period. Poor communication from HR contacts
