I had an easy time applying to Mathematica. The process was transparent throughout and I was treated with respect the whole way through. It started with a phone screening where the gave an overview of what the application process was. I always knew what the next step was and about how long I would have to wait to hear back. At first I had applied for a different position that I didn't get; rather than ghost me or send a boiler plate email, the recruiter from the company called me to tell me--I thought this was very considerate. In the end, because it seemed like a good company, I re-applied for a similar position (they were flexible about that and didn't make me redo an assessment from the last time I applied) and ended up getting it. In the interviews themselves, people were kind and welcoming. I didn't ever feel like someone was trying to grill me or ask me a trick question.
