I was given an on campus interview with MAXIMUS after the drop deadline from my school's career search board. The presentation the company reps gave the night before the interview was good.
The interview was behavioral and the interviewer showed no personality. She was sick as a dog that morning and it showed. She seemed preoccupied with taking care of her runny nose and coughing and simply stuck to the script of the interview. I don't feel that she gave me a fair look. She was an HR consultant and couldn't answer a lot of my questions pertaining to the field. I followed up with an email thank you and asked her if she could put me in contact with someone who could answer my questions. She didn't respond.
In all, I don't think interviews that stick completely to the script are effective, especially when there is a pre-selection process. They obviously saw something in my resume that they liked in order to select me for an interview, but they asked questions that didn't relate to anything or any experience on my resume.
Overall, I think MAXIMUS, being a firm that deals a lot with people, should send some better interviewers around with more personality who don't let the way they are feeling be projected on others.
