The company seems nice and with good benefits. The process was good until the third round of interviews. I received good feedback on the first two interviews, which was a good sign to continue, even with the other review here on Glassdoor, in which the guy had a terrible experience with them. In the third interview, which was a pair programming challenge, I had a good moment with the engineer, discussing the solution. In the end, I was expecting good news, after all, I delivered what was expected.
But then, I just received a random email saying that they decided not to move forward with the next steps, which seems weird to me. No feedback, no explanations about the decision, and no transparency on the process. Not sure if it was more like a personal decision from the second engineer (I hope not), but anyway, sad that due to the lack of transparency from them resulted in this. I would apply again for them in the future where they would have a better hiring process.

Where do I even begin? I applied for a Senior Software Engineer position at Maximus Tribe, and what followed was nothing short of a 5-month nightmare. The process started predictably enough with a basic Leetcode-style interview. Then came another tech-focused interview. But here's where it gets worse: I had the misfortune of speaking with the CEO next, which, in theory, should have been a good sign. Instead, it was just the beginning of a painfully long, disorganized process.
After waiting nearly a month after that CEO chat, I was finally lined up for another interview with their new CTO, who told me an offer was coming "quickly." Oh, how naive I was to believe that. Instead of a reasonable next step, they demanded that I provide 9 referrals—yes, 9. Who even does that? Oh, and they also threw in a weird assessment quiz somewhere in between, which made zero sense for the role.
The cherry on top? They never contacted any of my referrals, which was just another slap in the face after making me waste so much of my time. Then came the final insult: a generic email informing me that they wouldn’t be moving forward with my application. Thanks for nothing, Maximus Tribe.
The entire process was drawn out, utterly incompetent, and honestly, the company seems toxic from the inside out. If this is how they treat potential hires, I can only imagine how awful it must be to actually work there. Don’t bother applying unless you have a few months to waste and love jumping through unnecessary hoops for a job you’ll never get.
