Applied online, the recruiter was extremely unengaged and unprepared for the call. I seriously felt like I was wasting my time and should end the call, there was just a lack of respect for the process. He had no real questions, and when I asked about the company, team, the culture he had no insights or even canned answers to give, just a lack of care for his job. After that, I didn't hear back for a month, at which point he said the team was ready to move forward and schedule a call with a hiring manager. I asked about the timing and he said the team was busy with conferences. He didn't seem to understand that I was also asking about the lack of his communication. He is the recruiter, and so far everything he did says red flag and not a good place to work. Day of the call, he canceled saying the role was being put on hold indefinitely.
